Flint and Steel Kit No. 3

Flint and Steel Kit No. 3 allows you not only to build a primitive fire in the way our ancestors would have, but also to do so slowly and beautifully.

The bag is hand-sewn according to traditional means and opens out to become a small round cloth, which can be conveniently placed on a tree stump, rock or even on a patch of grass. You can then set out all the fire making tools and materials you need in order to build a fire using the traditional Flint and Steel method.

By threading a leather cord or cotton rope through the slot provided, you can transform this small round cloth back into a protective bag that will shield its contents from the wind and rain. This kit makes a perfect gift for any camping or hiking enthusiast.

Aside from the fabric bag and leather cord or cotton rope, this fire making kit includes:

• A special edition hand-forged firesteel, 3” (75mm) in length
• A small tin container of linen char cloth tinder
• A large piece of flint
• Two bundles of jute twine

Aside from the tin container, all of the materials and components of this kit are sourced and produced by hand. This inevitably leads to a higher quality finished product than would be possible by modern manufacturing processes.

The high carbon steel striker incorporates a specially designed twisted pattern, which looks remarkably like the flames you'll soon be producing with it.
