This is a great primitive fire starting kit. I'm new to starting fires with flint and steel. I tried another kit before I ordered this one and that one didn't work even after a few hours of trying. Maybe it was luck, but with this kit I had lit a fire within a minute.

I only take kits from Flint-and-Steel when I'm out in the wild! I'm not sure if there are better fire steel kits around but I sure haven't seen any!

I don't like using lighters or ferro-rods. But I trust Mikhail's flint and steel kits when I make a fire. I do own other flint and steel kits for playing around in the garden, but Mikhail's' fire starter kits are of a much higher quality!
